Æsir, the Copenhagen-based, design-focused, luxury mobile phone company brings fresh thought to mobile phone design with its inaugural phone the Æ+Y.
To celebrate Wallpaper*’s Handmade exhibition at Salone del Mobile in Milan this year, Æsir commissioned James Joyce to create a one-of-a-kind edition of the Æ+Y handset, an ‘ode to Copenhagen’.
The Æ+Y was created by a collaboration of individuals from San Francisco and Switzerland to Oxford and Oulu. Each bringing unique skills to the project, this team is united by a love for Æsir’s inspirational home, Copenhagen. For this special edition of the Æ+Y, each collaborator has shared what they love about Copenhagen, such as Yves Béhar’s Tivoli Ferris wheel, Peter Ashall’s wind farm and Tom Hingston’s hot dog. Each tribute to Copenhagen has then been hand designed as a keypad icon by James Joyce and hand engraved into a one-off edition of the Æ+Y.
